Toukley & District Cycle Club
The Toukley & District Cycle Club was created to provide recreational cycling for the mature age rider, our members ranging in age from the mid-forties to well into the seventies. However, age is not a prerequisite, and we welcome any bike rider seeking recreational cycling in a social and friendly environment.
Our bike rides cover the area from Ourimbah in the south, to Swansea in the north, and all of the eastern section of the Central Coast from the F3 Freeway to the sea. This provides us with a wealth of rides, requiring very little duplication over a three-month period (the normal span of our ride calendar).
We are fortunate to have a cycle-conscious shire council which has provided some of the best and most scenic cycle paths available within a relatively short drive from either Sydney or Newcastle. Typical of these is a simple, easy, and scenic trip of about 25 kilometres around Budgewoi Lake, (one of the Tuggerah Lakes). Other rides take us further afield and range from 35 to 65 kms
If you are hesitating because you only ride short distances now, please contact us for advice. We will help you start with rides that suit your level of fitness and ability.
All rides are scheduled for Wednesdays. We assemble at 1000 hrs at Wallarah Point Park, Gorokan, (near the Fish Co-op) . Most rides see us back to base by about 1400-1500 hrs (2 - 3 pm)
