Bicycle wheels are made with an area of reduced wheel diameter in the centre of the rim designed
to facilitate the removal/replacement of the tyre [the well].
Proceed as follows:
Locate the position of the valve and go to the other side of the wheel directly opposite the valve.
Using your fingers squeeze the sidewalls of the tyre together so the tyre can enter the reduced diameter
in the centre of the rim. Continue this action in both directions around the tyre back to the valve.
Using the tyre levers, remove the tyre adjacent to the valve.
Replacing the tyre is merely a reversal of this procedure with the area of the valve being the last
point to be replaced. As the valve prevents the tyre from entering the centre of the rim, it is important to remember that
at the valve is the first place to be removed and the last to be replaced. Do not use tyre levers to fit the final section of tyre on the rim, as this will almost certainly result in a pinched tube. Just push on with your fingers after making sure the opposite side of the tyre is properly seated in the well.
