Gravel Bike Rides | |
| Friday May 22 Cooranbong circuit – between 35 and 40km. University trails plus fire trails to Awaba township. A small section is on sealed roads. An easy gravel ride with about 300 metres of climbing. This ride will go through one of the best bird watching areas in the region. Meet at the Cooranbong playground/sports field parking on Freemans Drive – just before the bridge and shops. Morning tea at the University. Friday July 3 Laguna. 58km and about 800m of climbing. Fire trails to the eclectic roadhouse at Laguna for Morning tea and we will pass through national park, farms and convict road ruins. This ride is best suited to electric bikes and those fit enough to ride the final 6km continuous climb – other sections would be classified as generally easy. Meet at the corner of Watagan Forest Rd/Wollombi Forest Rd. Friday August 21 Ride route to be confirmed. | |

Ride Leaders - New Ride Sheets Guidelines for Participants and Ride Leaders Riding Locations - Rides start from the following locations unless stated differently in the ride calendar. All rides have a coffee stop and other rest stops as required. Wednesdays Group 1 - 8.00am Start - Jenny Dixon Reserve, Bungary Road, Norah Head Group 2 - 9.00am Start - Peel Street, Toukley (near Osborne Park Playground which is beyond the Marine Rescue base) Fridays Skylarkers (Group 1) 8.00am Start Jenny Dixon Reserve, Bungary Road, Norah Head. | Insurance: The Club has liability insurance for members on the scheduled rides. Riders are advised to obtain their own personal insurance to cover liability when not riding with the club including riding to or from the organised ride. Bicycles NSW and Velossure are two places that bicycle liability insurance can be purchased from - each has different coverage so check which suits your needs. If you intend to ride an electric power-assisted bike you should be aware that the Club requires it to conform with Transport NSW Roads and Maritime Services - Section 2 Power-assisted pedal cycle - maximum power output 500 watts (a "Pedalec") EN 15194: 2004 and speed assisted to 25kmh. | |
